Coming up with blog content ideas isn’t easy. While having regular features such as “cartoon reviews” and “graphic novel picks” helps, that still leaves plenty of days to fill with other material.
This infographic from Copyblogger offers some useful tips for coming up with ideas for blog topics. Not all of the tips may be relevant for all bloggers, but there’s some useful suggestions.

How I come up with blog content ideas
I sometimes ask followers on Twitter if there’s anything they’d like to see me write more about. I’ll also sometimes prompt readers to leave their thoughts in the comments section.
I’ve updated or rewritten old blog posts. An example is, well, this post; it was originally written in October 2015, but I updated it in June 2022.
Pop culture already occupies a decent amount of space on the blog. That said, I try to put a unique twist on things; focusing on characters who are people of color or LGBTQ helps. There’s also that my own pop culture tastes fall on the esoteric side; I don’t have much interest in the latest Batman movies, but I will write about my favorite webcomics. One example is my post from late 2021 about the 50th anniversary of “Soul Train.”
While the infographic goes with an implied assumption “comics = superheroes,” any genre of comics should be fine: adventure, humor, etc.
I’ll also write down ideas as they come along during the day. In my case, I use Apple Notes, but any note keeping app will do.
