News came earlier this week of the passing of actor James Avery. While his most famous role’s that of “Uncle Phil” on the sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” he’s also noted for his roles in animation, particularly the Shredder on the original “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” animated series.
I’ve written about Avery in a previous minorities in cartoons entry, though as a teenager I enjoyed seeing him on “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” too.
