Once again, the top film this weekend at the box office is Disney’s “Frozen.” The film earned $20.7 million for a total take to date of $297.8 million, or about twice what it cost to produce ($150 million).
“The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug” came in third, earning $16.3 million for a total take of $229.6 million.
“Saving Mr. Banks” seems to be doing OK after all. It came in seventh place this weekend, earning $9.1 million for a total take so far of $59.3 million.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” caught ninth place, making $7.4 million for a total to date of $407.5 million.
Per the subject line, yes, coming up with cold weather-themed puns (even with the current deep freeze I’m stuck in) isn’t always easy.
