My thoughts
Since it’s November, that means the holiday season is now in full swing, with various seasonal films and specials airing. That said, before that gets too underway, November also brings Election Day, complete with coverage running late into the night. Please remember to vote, my fellow Americans (and not for you-know-who).
“The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish,” the latest in a string of attempted reboots of Nickelodeon’s popular aughts-era cartoon, is coming to Netflix in November. As for why it’s not on Paramount+, they dropped it from their service. While several seasons of the original “OddParents” are on Netflix, it’s still part of now-long list of TV shows streaming services have purged or sent to old standbys like Netflix.
The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade will bring the usual balloons and floats of famous (or currently-marketed) cartoon stars. This year’s balloons include Minnie Mouse and Spider-Man.
Speaking of Disney-related media, “Moana 2” is due out over Thanksgiving. Given how popular the original film is on Disney+, I imagine this will be another hit for the Mouse House, after “Inside Out 2.”
Sports stuff
Thanksgiving brings the annual Thanksgiving Day football games. Despite that “Thursday Night Football” is an actual thing, that’s just on Amazon Prime Video. CBS and Fox put their game broadcasts under their normal banners, while NBC airs their Thanksgiving night game under their “Sunday Night Football” branding (despite being Thursday).
