IDW is offering an odd crossover this month: “Transformers” meets “Back to the Future.” Granted, cars are a central part of both franchises. That said, I can only imagine what Doc Brown would make of (basically) shape-shifting giant robots from space.
“Archie and Katy Keene” was a recent miniseries/storyline in the (currently on hiatus) “Archie” flagship title. Presumably, this story was written to serve as a tie-in to the “Katy Keene” TV series on the CW. Unfortunately for the House of Riverdale, that show was cancelled after just one season.
“Lumberjanes” is ending its run
News came last week that Boom! Studios’ “Lumberjanes” series is finally ending its run in December. The series has been running since 2014, and earned plenty of praise (for good reasons). We’ve since seen an explosion in young adult/all ages comics featuring LGBTQ characters, from “Goldie Vance” to a recent Aqualad graphic novel.
The series ending was telegraphed for awhile, given recent solicitations for a storyline about the girls’ summer finally ending. Still, I’m still sorry to see the title go. Meanwhile, Boom’s press release states it’s not the last we’ve seen of Jo, Ripley, Mal, and company.
