Just when I thought few things could top “Archie Meets the Punisher” in terms of Archie-associated weirdness comes this even odder sounding comic and cartoon: an animated series of the adventures of California’s former governor, Arnold “The Terminator” Schwarzenegger. In this newly-announced animated series, Arnold will be fighting crime under his real-life occasional nickname, “The Governator.” Stan Lee’s comic company and Archie Comics (plus an animation studio named A Squared Entertainment) are helping to make this idea a reality, via a comic book and a TV series. See the promotional clip for yourself:
The animation looks OK (and if nothing else, thankfully not CGI or Flash-based), though reminiscent of a 1980s-era action cartoon like “G.I. Joe.” Still, much as one would think this is some slightly-late April Fools’ Day joke, this one’s apparently real; here’s the press release, via Cartoon Brew.
Wonder if this means we’ll get to see such comics/cartoons starring other Republicans, such as “Sarah Palin and Her Howling Tea Party Commandos,” “The Incredible Bush,” or “(Governor) Walker: Wisconsin Ranger”…
