This might be the last of the Marvel-related solicitations posts for awhile. It’s been reported (and confirmed in the above solicitations) that this is the last month for the kid-friendly “Marvel Adventures” line of comics. (More on this cancellation from Comic Book Resources.) Between this and the likelihood of me dropping some of the “New 52” titles I’m reading, it looks like I might be saving plenty of money on comics in 2012.
Marvel does plan on producing a “Toy Story” miniseries (the first issue is offered in this month’s solicitations), so it’s not completely leaving younger readers in the lurch. While a “Toy Story” comic isn’t surprising (a reason they got the license back from Boom! Studios in the first place), Marvel did state they’re looking into possibly introducing a new line of kid-friendly comics in the future.
Anyway, the final issue of “Super Heroes” involves Ant Man (guest-starring Spidey), while “Spider-Man” sees him face the Absorbing Man and the Puppet Master.
(Update 1/22/12) OK, might not be the last of the Marvel purchases for awhile… adding “Amazing Spider-Man” and “Ultimate” Spidey to the “might buy” lists. This month sees Peter fighting space zombies alongside the Human Torch, while Miles faces the (Ultimate) Scorpion.
