Bluesky has seen a major uptick in followers since it opened fully to the public last year. With Elon Musk engaging (more so) in open bigotry, all while running Twitter into the ground, many are seeking alternatives to the site currently known as “X.” While I still like Mastodon (and its ActivityPub protocol), Bluesky’s offered a few innovations of its own, particularly the “Starter Pack”: the ability of users to create categories listing specific accounts worth following, such as “Black comic creators” or “Linux users.”
Between Starter Packs and Bluesky’s growing user base, there’s an increasing chance of new users finding accounts worth following. Still, below I’ve listed some Bluesky accounts of interest, sorted by category.
