Comments

“Misfit City” is a new series from Boom featuring a modernized variant of the classic 80s film “The Goonies.”

“Lumberjanes” sees parents’ day continue. Like the campers themselves, the parents are a diverse bunch, including Jo’s parents (an interracial gay couple).

“The Backstagers” is a series that’s something of a male counterpart of “Lumberjanes.” It focuses on the aforementioned “backstagers,” a group of stage hands for a private all-boys high school’s drama club. Unlike normal high school theaters, the backstage area has strange goings-on (monstrous creatures, mysterious tunnels, etc.). Similar to “Lumberjanes,” the cast are a diverse group, including LGBT characters.

Tom Tomorrow’s long-running alternative newspaper political comic strip “This Modern World” gets a 25th anniversary omnibus edition this month.
