“Inside Out” wins 2016 Best Animated Feature Oscar

The Academy Awards were held on Sunday evening. The big animation news was the much acclaimed Pixar film “Inside Out” winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

The winners for the various categories that saw animation nominees:

Best Animated Feature

  • Inside Out (winner)
  • Anomalisa
  • Boy and the World
  • Shaun the Sheep Movie
  • When Marnie Was There

Best Animated Short Film

  • Bear Story (winner)
  • Prologue
  • Sanjay’s Super Team
  • We Can’t Live Without Cosmos
  • World of Tomorrow

Best Original Screenplay

  • Spotlight (winner)
  • Bridge of Spies
  • Ex Machina
  • Inside Out
  • Straight Outta Compton

This year’s best picture winner is “Spotlight.” A full list of this year’s Oscar winners is available here.

I didn’t watch the Oscars this year, opting to watch some movies instead (“Transformers,” “Gravity”). While I’m sure this year’s host, Chris Rock, roasted the Academy and its diversity problems, I still didn’t feel compelled to care or watch. Fortunately, Twitter made keeping up easy and probably way more entertaining.
