Archie’s revamp of its flagship title continues, this month focusing on its reboot versions of Dilton and Moose. I’m wondering how reboot-Moose is portrayed, given I’ve written about before how dated his “violent, jealous boyfriend” shtick is nowadays, especially when we hear about pro athletes in the news in trouble for similar behavior. Granted, Midge probably could use retooling as well—a characterization besides “Moose’s property”/”the generic nice girl Moose fights with Reggie about.” Dilton I assume wouldn’t need much of an alternation, given geeks are currently “in.”

Nice variant cover for “Back to the Future”—Doc’s sons, Jules and Verne!

There’s a large pile of “Peanuts” related material out this month, in time for the new theatrical “Peanuts” movie. But the complete treasury reprints continue as usual, with the next-to-last volume out in November.

“Lumberjanes” is getting the deluxe hardcover treatment.
