This weekend saw this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards take place. The Creative Arts Emmys were awarded on Friday, and the remainder of the Emmys were given on Sunday. For unfortunate reasons, this year’s ceremonies weren’t televised or streamed online, supposedly out of cost-related reasons. In this day and age, there shouldn’t be an excuse to not at least stream it. It also seems very odd that the very medium the Daytime Emmys are awarding won’t televise it on any of its (dozens if not hundreds) of TV channels.

Here’s a look at the animation related winners. A full list of winners is available here.

Netflix seems to be a huge winner here. Obviously, Netflix and DreamWorks have benefited greatly from their deal with each other. PBS as usual also earns an award, this time for “Peg + Cat.” On the live-action side, “Sesame Street” makes its final Daytime Emmys appearance under PBS’ name, as any future awards will be under new home HBO.
