Free Comic Book Day 2011

This year’s Free Comic Book Day, an annual one-day promotional event among comic shops to promote comics to the general public, takes place on May 7, 2011.

Here’s a list of what comics are being offered at this year’s FCBD. Of course, availability and number allowed to be chosen will vary depending on the comic shop:

The ones I’d be most interested in obtaining:

  • Pep Comics with Betty & Veronica: Archie’s brought back (or renewed the trademark on) one of their oldest titles, and the one that Archie first appeared in, “Pep.”
  • Captain America / Thor: Cap seems to be in his movie costume here.
  • The Intrepid EscapeGoat: Sounds like “Indiana Jones” meets “Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole”…
  • Rated Free For Everyone
  • Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse: a collection of 30s-era stories by Floyd Gottfredson.

Since I’ll be returning to Milwaukee from a week-long trip to Seattle on May 7, I’m not sure I’ll be able to participate in this year’s FCBD. Still, if anyone knows of any Seattle comic book shops that’re open on Saturday morning, feel free to let me know!
