Marvel’s “Champions” helped it to top this month’s sales charts in revenue. However, by units sold (thanks to Loot Crate), the top comic this month is a Boom Studios crossover between “Escape From New York” and “Big Trouble in Little China.” Diamond noted this in its listings, though didn’t mention Loot Crate.
Below are the top 10 selling comics for October, according to Diamond.
|1||BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK #1||$3.99||BOO|
|3||DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE SORCERERS SUPREME #1||$3.99||MAR|
|4||DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE #6||$5.99||DC|

DC’s “Rebirth” (and returnable books) influence is finally waning. Marvel’s “Champions” book, starring Ms. Marvel and other young heroes, topped sales for the Big Two. Dr. Strange also did well (thanks to the new movie). The sole Image title appearing is “The Walking Dead.”

Outside of comic shops, October’s top selling paperback graphic novel, according to the New York Times, is “Ghosts” by Raina Telgemeier. It topped the list all through the month.
