“Civil War II” and its aftermath lingers on, including affecting various books. It’s leading to Ms. Marvel getting two $5 books, “Champions” and her own book. Sorry for going against avoiding $5 books; I’ll assume it’s only for this month. The new Champions include the Amadeus Cho Hulk, Nova, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Viv Vision (the Vision’s daughter), and the teenage Cyclops from the 1960s circa 13-15 years ago, who’s still here for…some reason. Given the X-Men’s timeline is already a hash, I guess it doesn’t matter.

This month’s “Squirrel Girl” sees Doreen visiting her parents in Canada. Oddly, the guest-star is Ant-Man, not Alpha Flight or Wolverine.

“Cage” is Genndy Tartakovsky’s miniseries about Luke Cage, written and drawn as if taking place in his 70s heyday.
