“Secret Wars” tops December 2015 comic sales

Marvel’s “Secret Wars” #8 topped the comic charts for December. Despite the dragged out, late-running nature of this mega-storyline’s core title, it’s still popular. DC had a few more entries in the top 10 this month, though Marvel still dominates sales.

Here’s the top 10 comics for December, from figures at Comichron and comics distributor Diamond.

  7. Darth Vader #14, $3.99 (Marvel)

  10. Darth Vader Annual #1, $4.99 (Marvel)

On the trade paperback side, a mix of companies’ titles appear in the top 10. Here’s the top 10 TPBs/graphic novels.

Total comics/graphic novel sales are up 1.53%/1.09% (by dollar/unit shares respectively) since November. Since December 2014, they’re up a whopping 21.85%/17.8%.

The holiday season and the improving economy, plus the overall “Star Wars” frenzy of late, all likely add up to the big sales boost for December.
