In New 52 territory, the biggest development is that Lex Luthor will become a JLA member. Never mind that it’d be like seeing North Korea joining NATO, or Fred Phelps joining GLAAD. I suppose it says something about DC’s current direction these days…
In more interesting areas of DC (i.e., outside the New 52), this month’s “Showcase” is a compilation of the 70s “Super Friends” comic stories. The comic took a bit more serious treatment of the JLAers than the TV show did, and since it wasn’t bound by Saturday morning violence standards, one could see action more faithful to the regular JLA comic. The writers (DC staffers such as E. Nelson Bridwell, etc.) treated the “Super Friends” book as more light-hearted adventures taking place between “Justice League of America” stories, though multiverse trackers usually put it on its own Earth (labelled “Earth-1A,” as an offshoot of Earth-1).
I noticed the writer of “Looney Tunes” is one Marv Wolfman of “New Teen Titans” fame. I don’t suppose we could get an issue where the Tiny Toons cast come out of retirement as the “New Tiny Toons” (with Shirley the Loon dressed like Raven)?
